Ask ChatGPT: How To Pick a NYC Real Estate Agent?

Since OpenAI released ChatGPT in November, I’ve had a lot of fun messing around with it. ChatGPT will recommend a sushi restaurant in Tribeca, a great idea for mom’s birthday, tell you a mobster story in the style of Shakespeare, and anything else you can think of. This morning I asked it how to pick a real estate agent and it offered up some useful suggestions.

1. Do your research: Start by researching local real estate agents and read reviews from past clients. This can help you find agents who have a good reputation and are knowledgeable about the local market.

2. Interview agents: Meet with prospective agents and ask questions about their experience, market knowledge and strategies.

3. Analyze service: Pay attention to how the agent answers your questions and assess whether you feel comfortable working with them.

4. Confirm credentials: Make sure the real estate agents you’re considering are licensed and have the necessary qualifications to represent you.

5. Consider cost: Compare fees and commission rates to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

6. Ask for referrals: Ask family, friends and colleagues for referrals to real estate agents they’ve worked with and were happy with.
